Director Brett Ratner (X-Men: The Last Stand, Rush Hour series) has been named the director for the upcoming film adaptation of the God of War series.
This bit of information was, oddly enough, found in a press release for a Robocop film.
Little is known currently about the project, which is believed to follow the series protagonist Kratos as he seeks revenge against the Greek gods/godesses for betraying his trust.
Currently there have been three God of War games released in the franchise, both God of War 1/2 have been released on the Sony Playstation 2 while the prequel, Chains of Olympus, was released on the Playstation Portable. Also the much anticipated God of War III is expected to be released on the Playstation 3 in 2009.
