PixelJunk Eden Demo Tomorrow, Game July 31st and PixelJunk Monsters Patch

Yes, now it’s all official, PixelJunk Eden is going to come out with a hot demo tomorrow and the actual game July 31st!

Well, let’s get into this then, this game was a real experience for Dylan Cuthbert and they had started creation of the game in December. There was this intern that hooked up Q-Games with a France team named Baiyon, and got designs and music from them. The game started out as nothing but plants, and then Dylan got some inspiration and they added the Grimps.

The rest after the jump!

Q-Games being a company that makes some smaller games, they can implement new OS features relatively quickly, like how they added DUALSHOCK 3 Support to PixelJunk Monsters on such short notice. Now it’s time to add Trophy Support and Youtube Video Uploading Support to PixelJunk Eden!

First off, they created Trophy screens and then SCEA did all of that and implemented it into the PS3’s OS, that made it much easier on them. But wait, does that mean if Q-Games didn’t do this, there wouldn’t be Trophies? I don’t know, I mean SuperStardust HD had Trophies too. . . .

Since this is a PSN Title, it can’t have as many Trophies as a Blu-ray title could, or the Platinum Trophy, but there are still a lot of Trophies unlockable.

To begin with, you can get a bronze trophy for opening every “seed” in a stage. This is quite a challenge on some of the stages as the gardens are large and expansive. Then there are trophies for a load of other things, such as destroying 500 of the “prowlers,” or collecting 15 “crystals” in one jump. My personal favorite is a trophy that you can only achieve in 3P mode, where you have to “volley” a player between you back and forth five times without him/her landing on a plant, a bit like tennis.

Just some Trophies I managed to catch from the video, which you probably have seen as well:
– Plant Rider
– Grimp Catch
– All Clear
– Pollen 100,000
– 3P No Death
– Combo x 5
– No Wasted Pollen

Some of which sound like a challenge, 3 Player No Death? Yeah, we’ll need to practice that, No Wasten Pollen? Exactly what do you mean by that?

Sound both interesting and very fun, but now I need a third controller. . . . Quite possibly, it’s time to get myself a DUALSHOCK 3.

Youtube Video Uploading and you, it’s as easy as one simple button press to start, stop and to upload. Well that’s great news, because up until now, consumers had to purchase video capturing devices as I have. And of course, you don’t have anything interrupting gameplay because of the PS3’s SPU’s. And it seems some games are doing this now, Spore and now PixelJunk Eden, who next?

Oh and, if you have been e-mailing Dylan Cuthbert to add Trophy Support to PixelJunk Monsters, it’s official that “they’re looking into it,” but if you want something like a date, pester Deborah Mars and her Santa Monica team. And if they patched PixelJunk Monsters, not only would they add Trophy Support, but implement In-Game Music and a couple of other things, Youtube Video Upload Support mayhaps?

This game is a must-have PSN title in my eyes, not simply because of the Trophies, but because it’s made by Q-Games, who owns my PSN Heart. Here’s to hoping more games are announced from Q-Games on the PSN!
