The E3 Logo!

E3 Media and Business Summit
Formerly known as (Electronic Entertainment Expo)
When: July 15th – 17th
Where: Los Angeles, CA
Sony Press Conference: July 15th 11:30 AM

History:

Prior to E3, most game developers went to other trade shows to display new products, including the Consumer Electronics Show and the European Computer Trade Show.

The first E3 was put on by the Interactive Digital Software Association (now the Entertainment Software Association). It coincided with the start of a new generation of consoles, with the release of the Sega Saturn, and the announcements of upcoming releases of the PlayStation, Virtual Boy and SNK’s Neo*Geo CD. Specifications for the Nintendo Ultra 64 (later renamed Nintendo 64) were released, but there was no hardware shown.

The event ran from May 11 through May 13, 1995 in Los Angeles, California. Keynote speakers included Sega of America, Inc. president and CEO Thomas Kalinske; Sony Electronic Publishing Company president Olaf Olafsson; and Nintendo chairman Howard Lincoln

Well what do you think we’ll be inevitably seeing at E3? I think some key things we’ll be seeing are related to LittleBigPlanet, God of War III, Home, Motorstorm: Pacific Rift, Resistance 2 will be there for sure – we know from The Full Moon Show – PixelJunk Eden will most likely make an appearance, maybe something about PixelJunk Dungeons, Killzone 2 is always possible, but doubtfull at this time, something about Ratchet: Quest for Booty mayhaps?, SOCOM: Confrontation should be there and that video service should be announced as well! Of course I’m missing quite a lot, like Bioshock, but that’s old news right? You think we’ll get any light shed on compatible Trophy games, as in which are being patched and how quickly they’ll be patched?
