August 19, 2008 by William Saw PS3 No Comments

2K Boston and 2K Australia’s Bioshock Playstation 3 version will be heading to North American retailers October 21st, with a European release on October 24th.

“We are proud to introduce 2K Games’ showcase title, BioShock, to an entirely new audience.”

“With the addition of the new Add-On Game Content we are able to extend the award-winning adventure while maintaining the perfect harmony that millions of players around the world have fallen in love with.”

- 2K President, Christoph Hartmann

2K Games has previously stated that the PS3 version will pack new additional content such as downloadable challenge rooms, support for PS3 trophies, and all the DLC that was released for the Xbox 360 and PC versions.

The Playstation 3 port was handled by a collaborative effort of developers that include 2K Marin, 2K Boston, 2K Australia, and external studio Digital Extremes.

A sequel, Bioshock 2, is due out sometime between August and October of 2009 and is currently in development by 2K Marin.
