Microsoft Confirms Feature Cut from New Xbox 360 Dashboard

October 14, 2008 by William Saw 360 No Comments

Microsoft has confirmed that the software update will launch without the ability to share movies with other Xbox Live members.

However the update will still feature Photo Sharing when it arrives as a free download on November 19th.

The official Microsoft annoucement of the new dashboard referred to as the New Xbox Experience promised that a group of up to 8 online friends could “watch a Netflix movie together, or share a slideshow of your personal photos.”

Microsoft’s statement regarding photo and movie sharing is as follows:

Photo Sharing is going to be available at launch.

With regards to movies, the New Xbox Experience is a long term initiative, what we are rolling out in November is only the beginning! With the New Xbox Experience we will have the flexibility to roll out features and updates dynamically, unlike in the past where we were on a more biannual schedule. So, there are a lot more exciting features, including Movie Sharing that will be coming soon.
