Resistance 2 Patch 1.40 Released

Yes, Resistance 2 has V1.40 out ready to download, the best part is, it updates a ton of things and is only 26MB, so it won’t take all day.

Multiplayer Progression

– Sometimes after playing some Co-op games players would be reset to Level 1 after being highly ranked, same thing would happen in Competitive, but this has been fixed so that all XP gained before or after your account’s reset will be added.

For example, say you were a level 20 medic and after being reset to level 1, and you earned 5,000 XP. Thanks to the patch, you’ll return a level 20 medic and that 5,000 XP will be added to your profile.

– If you had over 10,000 kills in Ranked Online Matches and did not obtain the “Killing Machine” Trophy, you will when the patch comes out.

Trophy/Medal/Ribbons

– “Salute Me” trophy is not awarded until player reaches level 31 (Lieutenant)
– “Berserker” trophy can be collected during non-ranked games
– “Survivor” medal can be collected in cooperative games
– “Sure Shot” ribbon is awarded if player has accuracy of exactly 50%

Clans

– You can now “View Clan,” apply to a clan and check clan rosters when looking at a person’s profile
– Default clan region is now USA

Match Balancing

– If a game is unbalanced, the game will not start until balanced or get cancelled
– Parties cannot get into free-for-all Deathmatch games

Competitive

– Loadouts can be disabled in the “Create Game” screen in competitive games
– Chance of dropping large ammo pickups in competitive games has been reduced
– Core Control scoreboard displays “Kills”
– Improved scoreboard formatting (You can still see the kill history when you die and things are easier to read

Co-operative

– Medics gain XP in a more balanced way so that they’re not gaining that much compared to Soldiers and Spec Ops
– Stalkers move now
– Small ammo pickups don’t give LAARK ammo anymore

Weapons/Gameplay

– Splash damage on Pulse Cannon can damage the player firing it
– Rossmore reticule better reflects its accuracy
– Fire is easier to shake off (DUALSHOCK 3)
– Players cannot swap weapons in the middle of a melee attack

Miscellaneous

– Localized text updates
– Network message optimizations
– EULA displays the correct language text for Norwegian, Finnish, Swedish and Danish

It’s a great update, and for those of you who know about one major update missed, it’s coming. Apparently the ability to save Player 2’s Levels for Co-op wasn’t available when Resistance 2 was made, but now it is. So expect it.
