The Vineyard – New Layout for MonsterVine

Version 1.2 is finally here, as part of the monthly update for MonsterVine. Launched as of today, Monday, January 26, 2009, the biggest change to notice here is the layout.

From Blog to Portal

We have rebuilt MonsterVine from the ground up to encompass a layout that would accurately reflect the content of the site. So this entailed that our blog format had to be put to rest in favor of a portal format. The portal format ultimately works to your advantage as you can easily access and sample our content on the front page such as reviews, editorials, and news.

Content As King

MonsterVine’s strength comes from the work of the staff and we really wanted to showcase the best that our site has to offer through this hierarchical layout – featured content > reviews and editorals > news

Our cyclic panel of featured content is the centerpiece of MonsterVine, where we will update it weekly to showcase the best that our site has to offer its readers. Reviews and editorals are put at the forefront of the site, demonstrating our dedication to rendering our final word on the latest video game titles as well as striving to convey our opinionative minds in the video game industry. Of course, to supplement all of this, we now have news separated by each respective platform.

Of course, we cannot forget about the right side! MonsterVine now offers daily e-mail subscriptions to fill your inbox with our awesome content, a weekly featured video for your entertainment, the integral video game podcast – ‘The Vine’, and the latest posts and comments coming out of the site daily.

Commitment to the Community

Ultimately, all these changes we’ve made are geared for our community. We felt that in making our layout accessible, we hope we have addressed our concerns of creating a community that will interact with our content. Obviously, there is alot of work to be done at MonsterVine but this is a big step forward for us in our aspriations to becoming a valuable source for the video gaming community.
