Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Confirmed

February 6, 2009 by William Saw Multiplatform 1 Comment

Infinity Ward’s community manager Robert Bowling has confirmed the existence of the next Call of Duty entry, due out for release this fall, subtitled Modern Warfare 2.

Following a Twitter update, read “Reviewing some radio-chatter VO we just finished recording for Modern Warfare 2 today” and “Cujo Two-One this is Vulture, solid copy on all.”

With no relation to the previous entry, World at War, released last fall. Infinity Ward will be taking the helm of the franchise this year, instead of Treyarch due to Activision’s strategy of switching developers after each entry to ensure a new game every year. This strategum is known as Leapfrog.

No release date or details have been pronounced for Modern Warfare 2, although release on multiple platforms are likely given its past history of the franchise.

Would the gameplay be a replay of Phantom Hourglass, with its infamously numerous trips through the Temple of the Ocean King?
Now that the [...]
