id Software Bringing Quake, Doom, and Wolfenstein to iPhone

John Carmack of id Software has “touched” upon new details of its mobile gaming offerings in the aftermath of the Zenimax acquisition.

In an interview with Shacknews, Carmack has announced that the Quake franchise will becoming to the iPhone platform in a multitude of releases.

“We will be trying to put some other developers on the future classic titles,” said Carmack. “I don’t think I’m going to be doing all of the work on Quake, Quake 2 and Quake Arena on there.”

The Zenimax acquisition doesn’t look to put a damper on id Mobile’s offerings with Wolfenstein RPG, Doom 2 RPG, and Doom Classic coming for release and even Rage being considered.
