Peter Molyneux, who was named creative director of Microsoft’s European gaming operations remarked upon how he would help Rare have more of an identity.

In an article from Official Xbox Magazine UK, members from Rare are excited and cannot wait for Molyneux to raise the profile of the studio.

“It’s great that he’s been promoted into this new creative position and encompassing Lionhead and Rare as well,” said Louise Ridgeway, Rare’s head of animation. “He’s been up quite a bit over the last few months. He comes up regularly and its great to see someone like Pete here. It gives us a little bit of a face because no-one knows who we are!”

“Once we were bought up by Microsoft obviously things have changed within the top ranks and stuff,” said Steve McFarlane, art director. “And I think over the last few years maybe the awareness of Rare has dropped. And the idea of Pete coming in and being this new face of Rare it’s a great thing for us. It’s really just to get us out there a bit more.”

Let’s see if Molyneux can work his hype machine and deliver for future Rare projects.

Matt Hazard: Blood Bath & Beyond Review

The original Matt Hazard had the potential to be a great game, good voice work with the likes of Neil Patrick Harris and Will Arnett. A brilliant backstory and marketing campaign which broke the fourth wall entirely, and the story while thin was entertaining and amusing. The sole problem came in the gameplay department which [...]

SB Plays The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks

When the newest entry in the beloved Zelda series was announced earlier this year, people were both excited and skeptical. How well would a train in the Zeldaverse go over with fans? Would the gameplay be a replay of Phantom Hourglass, with its infamously numerous trips through the Temple of the Ocean King?
Now that the [...]
