IndieCade 10: Tim Schafer to Recieve Lifetime Achievement Award

IndieCade, described as the Sundance Festival for video games, is awarding Double Fine’s Tim Schafer with the Honorary Trailblazer Award for Lifetime Achievement to be “bestowed to a true visionary in the field of game design.”

The award will be presented by, now fellow colleague, Ron Gilbert at the IndieCade Awards Show. Schafer previously worked at LucasArts developing adventure titles such as Monkey Island, Grim Fandango, Full Throttle, Day of the Tentacle before leaving in 2000 to form Double Fine Productions. Since then, Double Fine has released Psychonauts and Brutal Legend. The company is currently at work on smaller downloadable titles, one being Costume Quest.

Indiecade will take place October 8-10th and is open to the public. Pending editorial mishaps, we plan to be at the awards show to congratulate Tim on his achievement.
