Atlus Localizing Radiant Historia DS, Releases February 22

Atlus announced today that the North American version of Radiant Historia, a time travel RPG for Nintendo DS, will be releasing February 22, 2011. The game harkens back to the spirit of 16-bit era RPGs and features a position-based battle system, hand drawn visuals, and a soundtrack composed by Yoko Shimomura (best known for her arrangements on the Kingdom Hearts franchise.

In Radiant Historia, Special Intelligence Agent Stocke finds a way to travel through time and is tasked with rectifying key events in an alternative timeline to save the world. Aram Jabbari of Atlus remarked, “we’ve seen a future without a North American localization of Radiant Historia,” “That future was depressing and noticeably lacking in the ‘epic handheld RPG’ category.”
