Nintendo New Console, Launch 2012, Playable at E3

Nintendo has announced that the successor to the Wii console will release calendar year 2012 and be officially announced and fully playable at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo.

Rumors have been swirling about the new console, codenamed Project Cafe, following the success of the Wii console which has sold 86.01 million units from launch in 2006 to March 2011. The controller supports touch screen functionality and projects stream technology to play games, watch movies, and more. A big emphasis will focus on playing Cafe games without the need of a television.

Expect first and third party titles announcement at the Nintendo E3 conference as the company is looking forward to dominating its competition once again.
