On Day Zero of CES 2013 Nvidia unveiled their latest hardware venture, an Android based handled gaming device tentatively named: “Project Shield.”
The Jelly Bean based device comes with the latest and greatest in mobile proccessing, the Tegra 4 which was also officialy announced during their keynote and is said to be six times faster than the Tegra 3. It also packs quad core CPU with a 5-inch multi-touch 720p screen and crammed into a controller a little larger than an Xbox 360 pad is a microSD slot, HDMI out and speakers with headphone jack. What is surprising is the inclusion of the the support for WiFi PC streaming which allows for users to access “the best steam games” from anywhere within network access of their gaming desktop.
No word as to when the device will be released or how much it will set you back, but you can imagine it will be priced similarly to tablets with comparable specs.
