Holiday Gift Giving for Gamers Part One

Having trouble with your holiday shopping? Don’t worry we have a bunch of ideas for you to wrap up and distribute to your friends and family this season. Here is our first set of recommendations.

Point Cards & Subscriptions $5 & up

Xbox Points

Let’s get one of the most obvious, yet overlooked suggestions out of the way. Giving out a point card might seem like the easy way out, but there are a lot of good digital only games on all of the platforms, with even more coming in 2014. Make it personalized by including a game suggestion or two for them to spend their points. If you are giving out an Xbox Live/PlayStation Plus subscription include your account name and include the multiplayer games you want to play together.Xbox Live eShop PSN

Evil Controller $60 and up

Design a custom controller to make the recipient feel like their gaming is personalized experience every time they start playing. Evil offers a variety of controllers across multiple consoles including PS4 and XB1. You can customize every little detail from button color to stick texture, to get that perfect look and feel. HD PVR Rocket $169

HD PVR ROCKET 2

Sharing customized, captured gameplay is huge right now, but it’s not always easy. The latest PVR from Hauppapage makes recording your footage with personalized audio commentary, super easy by removing the need for a computer. The thing is small enough to fit in your pocket and is powered by USB ports on your console. With the push of a button your content is recorded to a USB drive plugged in to the front port. We are working on our full impressions on the device, but if you know someone who loves to share their gameplay and opinions with the internet, they will not be disappointed with the HD PVR Rocket. NVIDIA SHIELD $299 (Currently $249 holiday deal)

This is a great idea if you are willing to spend a little more money for a cool gaming gadget. The Shield is an Android based console with a controller built in. It offers a variety of gaming experiences from mobile games with controller support to WiFi streaming of proper PC games installed on your desktop. We haven’t had much exclusive time with the device, but it is impressive and exciting technology that is being well supported by NVIDIA. NVIDIA SHIELD 16GB
