Nintendo Announces Ever Oasis, a New RPG

Today during Nintendo Treehouse, Nintendo unveiled a new RPG IP for the Nintendo 3DS. It is called Ever Oasis. It puts you in the shoes of a character who must develop and manage an oasis in a harsh desert environment.

While only a few story details have been revealed, it involves a dark power called Chaos overtaking the desert, and the main character’s efforts to overcome it.

You will be able to expand your oasis, build shops, synthesize equipment, and attract new characters to your oasis. The game features a variety of tribes, including bird-creatures called “noots.”

Parties are an important part of Ever Oasis, and you will need to use your party members’ special abilities to solve puzzles and progress through dungeons. You can switch which character you’re controlling at will, even during battle. This is a key part of strategizing during battle and solving puzzles.

The game is being developed by Grezzo, the developer that worked on games like Line Attack Heroes, The Legend of Legacy, and The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D. Grezzo’s CEO is Koichi Ishii, responsible for the Mana series. He also worked on Final Fantasy, and designed the iconic Chocobos and Moogles.

No release date for Ever Oasis has been announced.
