Hey Nintendo, Here are the 30 Games That Should Be in the SNES Mini

The only thing crazier than Nintendo ceasing production of their constantly selling out NES Mini, is the thought that they wouldn’t be following it up with a SNES nostalgia machine. Assuming they stick with same number of games, here are my picks for the 30 games that should be included.

  1. Super Metroid
  2. Actraiser
  3. Super Mario World
  4. Super Mario Kart
  5. F-Zero
  6. Earthbound
  7. Uniracers
  8. DK Country
  9. Earthworm Jim
  10. Final Fight
  11. MegaMan X
  12. Ninja Gaiden Trilogy
  13. Street Fighter II Turbo
  14. Super Bomberman
  15. Mario RPG
  16. Super Punch-Out
  17. Tetris Attack
  18. Wario’s Woods
  19. Star Fox
  20. Zelda: Link to the Past
  21. Chrono Trigger
  22. Kirby Super Star
  23. Secret of Mana
  24. Harvest Moon
  25. Mario Paint
  26. Super Ghouls ‘N Ghosts
  27. SimCity
  28. Contra III
  29. Super Castlevania IV
  30. Bust-a-Move

A lot of these games are going to be guaranteed built into the SNES Mini, but some might be too expensive for Nintendo to license, or just outright impossible. Since this is just for fun I am going to include a few Japanese exclusive games that would be great to see make it to the Super Famicom Mini or get an official English Release.

  • Mario & Wario – The debut of Wario, a weird side scrolling puzzle game that made use of the SNES Mouse accessory.

  • Tetris Battle Gaiden – A head-to-head tetris game where different characters have special abilities to unleash on their foes to drastically change gameplay.

  • Fire Emblem – Three Fire Emblem games made it to the Super Famicom in Japan, and none of them made their way to the SNES.

With the SNES Mini all but confirmed, which games are you most hoping will have a spot on Nintendo’s 90s nostalgia machine?

What about Super Mario All-Stars? They still have yet to release it on ANY platform as a virtual console game. The remasters of the original three Mario games were so great! I’d love to be able to play them again. Just a thought.

I’m sure it’s too much to ask, but I’d love to see Killer Instinct, Mortal Kombat and Mortal Kombat II. They’re too violent to include, I’m sure, and Rare might not want to allow Killer Instinct to appear on nit.

That would NEVER be on anything like an SNES classic edition….Its a licensed game made by a publisher who no longer holds that license on top of the property now being owned by someone else
