Rick Lagnese’s Top Games of 2018

Hey everyone, my name is Rick Lagnese and I am the US Community Manager/PR for Warhorse Studios. 2018 a very busy and successful year for us. We released Kingdom Come: Deliverance on February 13th in 2018, so I will try and not be biased when talking about my favorite games of the year…

God of War

I think I need to mention that I’ve never played any of the previous God of Wars. I was able to go into this from a fresh perspective, and I have loved every minute of it! I started on the highest difficulty, which is INSANELY difficult, and I must say that I am a glutton for punishment. When I play a game, I look for great gameplay, story, graphics, challenges and music. God of War nearly perfects all of this. I am also a huge fan of boss battles, so clearly this game does not disappoint.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

This is one of the best fighting games of all time, for me. I love how they have every character, every map and the classic modes for this one. My kids and I play all the time and I love how I can play against my PR Manager online. The classic mode is amazing and the depth of this game will keep gamers playing for years to come. Simon is my guy!

Ghost Recon: Wildlands

The Ghost Recon series is my favorite shooter series ever, and Wildlands does NOT disappoint. When they first stressed the co-op campaign, I thought that the attention to the multiplayer would suffer. However, they truly have come up with the perfect blend of MP and story mode. The MP brings back some of the old memories from the days of GRAW. It’s never been easier to jump in and out of a game like this one. If only I had more time in the day…

Dead Cells

Now this game is quite fascinating. My backlog is so bad it’s insane. Sometimes, I will default to an indie game because I feel like I don’t have to commit my time to it all at once. With Dead Cells, I spent over 100 hours playing this darn game and I do not regret it! I love Metroid-vania type games and the challenge keeps you wanting more. The weapons are great, the enemies are great, and I love the simple, yet challenging bosses. Go and grab this one.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance

Okay, so I lied. I couldn’t help but mention my game! However, I feel like it’s one that is quite worthy to be mentioned. There wasn’t any experience quite like KCD last year and if you had a chance to play it, you know exactly what I mean. From the history, the realism, the combat, the adventure, the music, the exploring, to the choices that you make in the game, KCD gave us gamers the chance to play for hundreds of hours and still want more. Walking around in the land of Bohemia and role playing as Henry is something that every gamer must try!

There were some other phenomenal games I played in 2018, but these one stood out to me. Furthermore, if I wasn’t married and had 5 kids, I’m sure I’d have a little more time to play lol. Thank you, everyone and stay medieval!
