VineCast Episode 3: I Can’t Dun Turn It On

August 18, 2010 by Craig Ballard Media, Podcasts No Comments

For the time being we have reverted back to an audio podcast. Much respect to Francis for spending so long on our video E3 podcast but at the moment we don’t have the time or the people to make it a regular feature. It shall return at some point in some form, just not now.

Something else is also different I am hosting this one because obviously what the VineCast needed was a little more Craig. Joining me is William Saw and James Cobb and half way through Gyuri joins us emerging from the tall grass. We discuss Bioshock Infinite (Skyoshock), the PSP Phone rumour, Mafia II and a nice discussion on Innovation this generation. Along with what everyone has been doing since last time. Expect Chicken Holocausts, Scott Pilgrim and wild Hungarians.

There were so many audio issues. I was able to get rid of most of them but some of them remained due to me laziness. So much echo, I’m looking at you Cobb.

Gamescom 10: Mass Effect 2 Coming to PS3

Gamescom has only just begun and during the EA press conference they announced that Mass Effect 2 will be making it’s way to the PS3 in January 2011. It’s not just a straight port, this version will have hours of bonus content. Whenever or not the DLC will be included hasn’t been said, but this is great news for PS3 owners.

Mass Effect has long since been one of the many exclusive titles for the Xbox 360 and now PS3 owners can have the joys of playing this space epic early next year.

Hydro Thunder Hurricane Review

Hydro Thunder Hurricane
Developer: Vector Unit
Price: 1200 MSP
Platform: Xbox 360

I can’t say anyone was expecting a sequel to a boat racing series released back in dawn of the Millennium for the Dreamcast and Playstation. Now for the Summer of Arcade season for Xbox Live we have a full blown sequel to Midway’s crazy arcade racer and element whore, Hydro Thunder Hurricane. Does Vector Unit do the original justice? Does it help revive the now dead genre? … Continue Reading

Power Gig Reveal More Tracks

Power Gig Reveal More Tracks

Through a series of 3 videos Seven45 Studios have revealed more artists and tracks for the upcoming Power Gig: Rise of the SixString, they are as follows:

The Academy Is… – “His Girl Friday”
Bad Religion – “I Want to Conquer the World”
The Black Keys – “Strange Times”
Black Sabbath – “The Devil Cried”
The Get Up Kids – “Martyr Me”
Mastodon – “Crack The Skye”
Mutemath – “Chaos”
New Found Glory – “Listen To Your Friends”
Paramore – “Ignorance”
Queens of the Stone Age – “You Think I’m Not Worth a Dollar, But I Feel Like a Millionaire”
Superdrag – “Aspartame”
Surfer Blood – “Swim”
Three Days Grace – “Break”

I must say, I’m really quite liking the list. So far we have this, and the previously mentioned Kid Rock, Eric Clapton and Dave Matthews Band. I’m also sure I played some of The Donnas at E3. They seem to be having a good mix of recent stuff (that hasn’t been in Rock Band & Guitar Hero) all they need now are more classics songs and they have a nice well rounded list.

Though I have one word of advice, you need some Zebrahead or InMe. That would make it the best game ever made. This is a fact. Consider it.

Keeping Myself Fit with Wii – Day 1

Keeping Myself Fit with Wii – Day 1

After a friend started playing Wii Fit, I remembered my family had bought it as well. I in all honesty forget that we have a Wii all together. It’s always in the lounge and never gets played. My family are basically the typical Wii owners, they buy the Wii with several games and never play and buy products for it again. The last time they used Wii Fit was 209 days ago. Disgraceful.

Recently I’ve started to seriously try and lose weight. (lost 2.5lb’s in my first week baby!) My plan was to hit the gym today but I had to wait at home for the people from the garage to pick up my car. So I picked the next best alternative (If you’re only option is at home) Wii Fit. … Continue Reading

Limbo Review

Limbo
Developer: Playdead
Price: 1200 MSP
Platform: Xbox Live Arcade

The summer always seems to be the time to bring out the arcade big-hitters, and this year is looking to be no different. While good Retail games are few and fair between, the downloadable gems just keep on coming. DeathSpank whipped our consoles last week. Now it’s Limbo’s turn. Being one of the most anticipated titles, winning awards left right and centre. Limbo has a lot of live up to. But does Limbo have what it takes to beat Braid off the top spot of puzzle-platformers? … Continue Reading

E3 10: Power Gig: Rise of the Six string Impressions

E3 10: Power Gig: Rise of the Six string Impressions

745 Studios has a huge hill to climb. Guitar Hero popularised this style of rhythm game and Rock Band has been the leading innovator for years. Power Gig hopes to change this by actually teaching us how to play the instruments ourself while playing the game. While Rock Band 3 has announced the same idea, Power Gig was actually playable on the show floor. With me and my love of rhythm games I had no choice but to check it out … Continue Reading

E3 10: TERA Impressions

E3 10: TERA Impressions

I admit I’m not a heavy MMO player. It’s not that I hate them, I just know myself too well. I will get addicted, so I avoid them like the plague. I don’t know what it is but MMO’s are like drugs. You know it’s bad for you and all the grinding gets annoying after a while, but you can’t stop playing it no matter how hard you try. I seriously never saw one of my friends again after he got into World of Warcraft. When I heard from En Masse Entertainment that TERA will offer a “unique perspective and experience to the popular MMO genre.” I couldn’t help but be intrigued. … Continue Reading
