Editorial: Why Sega Doesn’t Suck

by James Cobb - on Jul 14th 2010 - 5 Comments

Instead of going on and on… and on… and on like a fanboy and start raving about how the Genesis was ‘teh bestest system evur’ or how Shenmue is the ‘kewlest RPG evar madez,’ I attack the cynics by listing SEGA’s accomplishments these past five years. Though to effectively set the mood: I bought a DreamCast last year. Let’s continue. (more…)

Mario Marathon For the Kids.

by James Cobb - on Jun 27th 2010 - No Comments

Quick update from me, if you’re actually reading this site, then you are lucky to know that their is a marathon on http://www.mariomarathon.com/ surprisingly covering all the Mario games. All the proceeds go to Child’s Play, a charity set up by the site for sick children. The play-throughs are very entertaining to watch, the chat is full of lively and entertaining insomniacs (like myself and Mr. Cameron Banga), and I just saw a grown man in a Luigi dance with a stuffed pig (MLIA?). Plus, it all goes towards a great cause. Check it out!

Not my favorite, audio messed up and the original was lost when audacity had a seizure. Enjoy, next week will be a billion times better. I’m already planning something special for reparations. Eh, atleast I got some good facebook photos out of this.

The War Has Gone Mythic: Mythic Map Pack Public Release Date Announced

by James Cobb - on Feb 9th 2009 - 8 Comments

halo-3-20090203091056446_640w

Bungie loves you as long as you love Halo. However, many of us Halo lovers were not going to buy the Halo Wars LE just to get three of the six Mythic Maps early. Whilst I’m glad I don’t fall into that category, don’t fret! Bungie strongly hinted for the true Halolore fans or lovers of google by saying “After Halo Wars LCE hits retailers, your wait won’t be too much longer than the span of time between the Gettysburg’s departure for Earth to warn of the Covenant invasion and Regret’s slipspace jump out of the skies above New Mombasa. Afterwards, you’ll be able to plunk down 800 Marketplace Points for your very own copy of the Mythic Map Pack for Halo 3.”

Well, since I am a Halo fanboy and proud, the date Gettysburg went to warn earth of the Covenant invasion was the sad day of September 13th and the day the Prophet of Regret went into slipsace and destroyed New Mombasa was the sadder day October 20th. If you watched your sesame street this morning and count the days between the two dates it is 37 days. Thirty-seven days after March 3rd is the release of the Mythic Map Pack for all you RTS haters which just so happenes to be on April 9th

The map pack will come with six new maps (Assembly, Orbital, Sandbox, Heretic, Longshore, and Citadel; the three in bold come with Halo Wars LE) and a new playlist starting March 3rd called Team Mythic which Bungie says will consist of “…social 4v4 playlist exclusive to owners of the Mythic Map Pack. Primarily slayer, Team Mythic will feature Slayer, Slayer BRs, SWAT, and Snipers. Additionally, 2 Flag, Neutral Assault, and even Grifball will make cameos at a lower weighting. The playlist will feature all three Mythic maps, including Sandbox in multiple variants.” Yes, it says three maps. That is because we only get 3 maps with Halo Wars LE. It will also include skulls for each of these maps, new achievements, a new forge option for Sandbox allowing you to go dual layered with a completely blank second layer allowing endless possibilites, and of course more needlers.

A few days ago, I went to the doctor’s to get checked for cancer. Why? No other reason than the fact I had absolutely had it with rumors about the ‘I Wanna Be the Guy’ creator. After the test came back negative, I decided to skip home and email the man himself, Kayin (the creator). Today, after playing a rigorous game of Halo 3, I checked my email and he actually responded! Spontaneous Staff Top 5′s- Developing Studios.

by James Cobb - on Jan 18th 2009 - 10 Comments

Let’s face it, little about our staff is known to you members of our roaring community. You may know Will, Project Sora, Andy Jackson, and myself from our podcast parties, but even that is not much seeing as we have had only three episodes. So to help let you know our staff more, I figure why not have a collaborative top 5 every month or so about a personal preference. That way you, the reader who <3's my sexy text, can judge and form further opinions about us. It could maybe even make us look less like silhouettes with question marks on their chests and more like gamers!... or whatever we label ourselves lately.

Let's kick this article off with our very own and very active Nintendo team!:

Psychology ‘Proves’ What Gamers Have Said For Years

by James Cobb - on Jan 18th 2009 - 2 Comments

*This video may not work for some IE users*

Thought this may be interesting…. that they have finally realized what we have been telling them for years and what Sarah even made an article about. Took them long enough though.

Stupid psychologists.
