Finally a New Serial!

February 3, 2010 by SparklingBlue Blog No Comments

When the first pictures of movie 8 depicting Ash as a black mage-esque character appeared–I had a field day with the ideas that spawned–and to this day I’m still having fun with the concept of Ash and co. learning a little magic.

I’ve tried the idea before, but this time I’ll be combining this idea with the three storytelling alter egos I created for various slice of life fics.

Can Ash and co. survive being pulled into a TV show, where they are playing the heroes this time around?

Find out in Pokemon: A Mage’s Tale–releasing Thursdays only on MonsterVine.

The Midnight Run: The Aftermath

January 1, 2010 by SparklingBlue Blog 4 Comments

I made it all the way to the fifth visit to the Tower of Spirits before my DS died. I would’ve finished the game had I just a little more power.

Ah well, there’s always 2011.

Happy gaming,

The Rules for This Year’s Midnight Run

December 30, 2009 by SparklingBlue Blog No Comments

For the most part, the rules for the midnight run are pretty much the same as last year:

–I will be playing from whenever I wake up in the morning till midnight (or whenever I conk out, whichever comes first)
–I will only take breaks for food and the bathroom
–Status key for this year:
All aboard!–Midnight Run is underway!
Full Steam Ahead–I’m doing very well
Chugging right along–I’m doing okay
Losing steam–I’m beggining to tire….
Ground to a halt–I’ve conked out.
–You’re welcome to leave enouragement and banter on the liveblog

Tune in tomorrow to see if I can ring in 2010 by completing the newest Zelda!

Until then,

SB’s Challenge: The Midnight Express

After receiving The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks over the holidays, I have my challenge for another midnight run similar to my Chrono Trigger midnight run I did last year–complete or try to get through as much of Zelda as possible before midnight New Year’s Eve.

Would you want me to do another midnight run? Let me know!

Merry Christmas, MonsterVine!

Merry Christmas, MonsterVine!

With only one day to go before Christmas (and several hours before Santa Mario and Yoshi take flight), the holidays wouldn’t be complete without a showing of the Christmas Mario cartoon.

So I proudly present…

The Night Before Cave Christmas

Enjoy, and Merry Christmas!

Microtastic Reviews: Zombie Edition

Plants vs Zombies
Developer: Popcap Games
Price: $3 Dollars
Platform: iPhone
Genre: Tower Defense
There is something delightful about the charming simplicity of Popcap’s titles, and Plants vs Zombies continues this legacy. Much like Peggle and any of its past franchises, Plants vs Zombies takes a single round to comprehend all of its basic rules. Though it never becomes difficult [...]

Matt Hazard: Blood Bath & Beyond Review

The original Matt Hazard had the potential to be a great game, good voice work with the likes of Neil Patrick Harris and Will Arnett. A brilliant backstory and marketing campaign which broke the fourth wall entirely, and the story while thin was entertaining and amusing. The sole problem came in the gameplay department which [...]

SB Plays The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks

When the newest entry in the beloved Zelda series was announced earlier this year, people were both excited and skeptical. How well would a train in the Zeldaverse go over with fans? Would the gameplay be a replay of Phantom Hourglass, with its infamously numerous trips through the Temple of the Ocean King?
Now that the [...]
