At the Spike Video Game Awards last Saturday one of the many new trailers revealed (although its existence was already known) was that of Rainbow 6: Patriots. Facing off against a terrorist group called the “True Patriots”, the Rainbow 6 team plans to bring back the tactical FPS action the series is known for with a gritty edge. Namco Bandai had a presence at this year’s Tokyo Game Show, showcasing some new screenshots for its Naruto sequel, Naruto Shippuuden Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations. This multiplatform sequel promises characters from both Part 1 and Part 2 of the anime, and will feature more characters than ever before in a Naruto game.

Namco Bandai officially announced Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations at the Japan Expo in Paris, earlier in June. At the event, Namco announced it would be coming to PS3 and XBOX 360 and would launch sometime next year.
As the title suggests, Storm Generations features a large roster comprised of character from “every generation” of the anime series, and promises to “revolutionize online play” and “ramp up the number of playable and support characters way beyond any Naruto game before it.” It will feature a wealth of online battle modes, original Japanese voice-overs, and a “presentation which sticks faithfully” to the anime’s universe. At their appearance this year at New York Comic Con, Capcom sheds more light on its newest battle system addition: The Gems. Gems are crystals that players can equip onto their character to provide buffs to things such as strength, speed, and other interesting modifications that will inevitably add a new layer of depth to the overall experience. Ono had mentioned in the past that he would have liked to see development in the area of customizing fighters. This new game mechanic seems to be the first step towards that. (more…)
Square-Enix released a new incredibly spoilerific trailer at this year’s New York Comic-Con, which reveals much more information on the mystery surrounding Lightning’s disappearance, the motivations behind Sera and Noel’s journey, and much more. Clocking in at just over seven minutes, it will be no surprise if this is the last trailer to be released from Square-Enix before its Japanese launch later this year. (more…)
