TGS ’11: Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword gets Item Upgrades

Nintendo detailed a few new details about Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword at its pre-TGS press conference Monday night. A new video details item upgrades.

Skyward Sword is the longest Zelda game to date, as Shigeru Miyamoto qipped that it’ll take a person 50 to 100 hours to complete. The title will support players who want a second playthrough with New Game + and a boss rush mode. Item upgrades are introduced as Link will be able to collect items like a skull and amber and furnish them to a blacksmith to make his shield stronger. While item upgrades were previously in the Legend of Zelda games, this new system allows for more customization.

TGS ’11: Street Fighter X Tekken: Pandora Blowout!

Capcom’s latest fighting collaboration, Street Fighter X Tekken, continues to grow as more of the game’s battle system and online features are revealed at this year’s Tokyo Game Show in Japan. Most important of these is the new overdrive mode called ‘Pandora’. It seems to be the focal point of the game’s narrative, and will no doubt play a large role in how the game will be played when used during fights. By sacrificing your team member, players will be given a huge boost in their overall abilities to help pull out a victory. (more…)

Kid Icarus: Uprising Delayed Until 2012

The revival of Kid Icarus on the Nintendo 3DS handheld will have to wait in the hangar for a bit as Nintendo confirmed that the Tokyo Game Show that it has been pushed back from release this holiday season.

Nintendo stated the development team needed more time to complete the game and thus, 2012. Let’s hope Super Smash Bros 3DS isn’t in the same condition. The company hinted at an early 1st quarter release but it would only be for Japan. However, its not all bad news as Nintendo revealed it is working with “critically acclaimed Japanese anime production houses” to produce 3D Kid Icarus animations for release on Nintendo Video for free. Metal Gear Solid, Zone of the Enders HD Collections Coming to PS Vita

Kojima Productions head honcho Hideo Kojima took to the stage during Sony’s Tokyo Game Show press conference to announce that the HD collections for Metal Gear Solid and Zone of the Enders are also coming to the Playstation Vita.

The HD collections is confirmed for release on Playstation 3 but will now release on the new handheld also (with that revolutionary “Transfarring” technology). Both HD collections for PS Vita is slated for a 2012 window. (more…)

Final Fantasy X Is Remade for PS3, Playstation Vita

Square Enix revealed that Final Fantasy X is coming to Playstation 3 and Playstation Vita. Shinji Hashimoto announced the remake as part of its 10th anniversary event.

Final Fantasy X made its debut on the Playstation 2 nearly 10 years ago and will now be remade in HD. (more…)
