Valve has announced the free DLC update for Portal 2 will release across multiple platforms: Steam, Xbox Live, PSN on October 4th. Which means tomorrow. The free DLC “Peer Review” is available to all owners of Portal 2 via download on Xbox 360, PS3, and will be automatically downloaded via Steam on PC and Mac platforms.
In “Peer Review,” players will rejoin Atlus and P-Body in a new co-op track and match wits with GlaDOS. The DLC features single player, co-op Challenge Mode, and leaderboards. Valve is debuting Dota 2 to the public at this year’s Gamescom in Germany this week but the publisher has further plans. Introducing The International, the inaugural Dota 2 championships featuring the best Dota players around the world competing over the course of the five day trade show.

…but you’re free to pay, of course. Valve has announced that four years and over 200 updates, Team Fortress 2 is forever now Free to Play (F2P).
The F2P comes as part of the “Über Update” which sees the largest content update to TF2 since its release in 2007. New players interested can hone their skills in Traning and offline practice modes to hone their skills before jumping into the competitive TF2 servers. Valve has also released “Meet the Medic,” the latest in the series of TF2 animated shorts available for viewing below.
