The multiplayer PC beta for EALA’s strategy game, Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3 has begun, allowing the first 2,000 players who registered their beta keys to start playing.
“We are starting the activation process with a very small pool of testers and will work to ramp this number up to thousands and thousands of Comrades around the world on a weekly basis, likely multiple times a week throughout the rest of this month and August.”

The studio expects the next wave to be at least 10,000 participants. Currently the only way to get into the beta is to use the key that was bundled with the PC edition of the Command and Conquer 3 expansion, Kane’s Wrath.
Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3 is expected for a release this October for PC and Xbox 360. The Playstation 3 version was canned due to its “exotic and tough” development environment.
“We actually announced a PS3 version early on but that was when we were still doing a lot of technical exploration of the architecture,”
“PS3 is a very powerful system but as you guys know it’s very exotic and tough to develop for and our engine really at the time wasn’t designed for PS3.”
