Platinum Games Bayonetta Detailed

The former folks of Clover Studios have very interesting titles to show off, one was Madworld, and now it is time for Bayonetta’s spotlight.

Bayonetta at first glance looks alot like Devil May Cry but with a woman. And alot of it is true to an extent. You play as a witch dressed in black aptly named Bayonetta. In the demonstration, the setting was an outdoor courtyear scene which left players with abundant opportunities of combat and Halo collecting. Halo collecting is explained when you defeat enemies, you collect Halos from said enemy, which then allows the player to strengthen Bayonetta’s abilities.

Abilities looks to be an important feature in Bayonetta as aside from your normal melee attacks and dual pistols, she can summon things in order to help dispatch enemies. During combat, she’ll be able to conjure up massive fists and feet while in mid-combo in order to unleash a massive attack upon her enemies. She will be able to summon musical instruments as fatalities. One example occurs during a combo where the player pulled a guillotine out of an ether and placed a monster inside it, and the rest you know… The demonstration concluded with a massive boss fight with a gigantic hulking beast that involved the player to lay in melees and pistol shots. The death animation was triggered when a huge black dragon emerged and bit the boss in the face.

The game’s visuals to be short is remarkable. Crisp textures, consistent frame rate, multiple enemies rendered on screen with ease summarizes the game’s work in the graphics department. Look forward to Bayonetta which is currently in development for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
