Interplay relaunched its company website which states that the Fallout MMO is still in development.
Codenamed “Project V13”, Interplay has opened an office in Orange County, CA for the development of the game. It also states that Chris Taylor has joined the team, Taylor was previously apart of the original Fallout team and is now the lead designer for the game. His arrival joins the following of several original Fallout development team members who have been hired by Interplay.
Although Interplay sold the rights of the Fallout series to Bethseda, the company retained the rights to create an online Fallout game. However Interplay needs to raise $30 million in funding before April 2009 and Bethseda is allowed to keep tabs on its development, otherwise the company will lose its MMO license.
