The Next Zelda: New Developments

Today while surfing, I found that earthbounding has posted a new video:

New Developments

What we learn:

–The Kind Code patent may not be related to New Zelda; it was issued on August 29, 2007.
–Clues that it is not related to New Zelda: the patent does not mention Zelda in keeping with Nintendo’s secrecy about big games, all it mentions are system stats
–Miyamoto is a dev, just like a company (eg. Apple).
–That said, there are hints it could be for New Zelda: Miyamoto filled it in, elements of the patent seem to point to Zelda, plus the date of the patent is close to the day New Zelda started to be made. Nothing definite has been proven about this patent, however.
–In an interview with BBC News, Iwata made one thing clear: games that cater to the core crowd take 2-3 years of development–given that New Zelda is taking a long time, it probably will not go casual.
–However, Miyamoto hinted that E3 is not the place to show new games.
–Reggie assures fans that Nintendo hears them, just that their way is different–and that they keep fans’ suggestions in mind when developing
–As covered in the newswire, Iwata is to keynote this year’s Game Development Conference…could New Zelda be revealed then?

Stay tuned as I find more information.

Happy gaming,
