The mirror and download site FileFront has been saved from its demise by its original founders, who according to an announcement allowed the site to stay in operation.
The FileFront founders bought back the site from Ziff Davis and are now running it independently with all services back online, claming “We are happy to be back!”.
Ex-owners Ziff Davis previously announced that the site would suspend operation as of March 30th blaming current economic conditions.
Surprised and bewildered FileFront users scrambled to preserve as many files as possible, however when the site’s forums came back online on April 1st, the timing initially led users to suspect that it had all been an elaborate and cruel April Fools prank.
And we are glad that our account is still alive and active for those who download our podcast files.
