TGS ’11: Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword gets Item Upgrades

Nintendo detailed a few new details about Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword at its pre-TGS press conference Monday night. A new video details item upgrades.

Skyward Sword is the longest Zelda game to date, as Shigeru Miyamoto qipped that it’ll take a person 50 to 100 hours to complete. The title will support players who want a second playthrough with New Game + and a boss rush mode. Item upgrades are introduced as Link will be able to collect items like a skull and amber and furnish them to a blacksmith to make his shield stronger. While item upgrades were previously in the Legend of Zelda games, this new system allows for more customization.

Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword releases November 20 for Nintendo Wii.
