Unity Technologies has partnered with DeNA’s forthcoming first-person shooter, The Drowning. Unity engineers have worked closely with DeNa’s development team in Stockholm, Sweden to provide “hands on technical support during the production of The Drowning.”
The Drowning’s team features an ensemble of developers who previously worked on titles like Halo, Battlefield 3, Crysis 2, Far Cry 2, and Mirror’s Edge. The goal with their new title is to “redefine the first-person shooter genre for touch devices by eliminating the need for virtual sticks with intuitive touch controls.”
“Working with Unity during the development of The Drowning has given us the technological tools to craft an incredibly beautiful game that is sure to be the most visually advanced mobile game on the market,” said Ben Cousins, general manager of Scattered Entertainment and head of DeNA’s European studio operations.
