New Super Luigi DLC Arrives This Summer

NSLU

The Year of Luigi continues with 82 brand new stages being added to the existing NSMBU Maps as DLC this summer.

Players looking for even more platforming from New Super Mario Bros U will have an opportunity for 82 unique levels by playing as Luigi on the existing map locations of the game.

Luigi will handle differently than Mario. He has a much more ‘floaty’ handling, causing him to take longer to slow down and allowing him to jump higher into the air.

Iwata explained that portable gaming has changed the way we play games, with players wanting short experiences they can pick up and put down if something comes up. For this reason the DLC levels will have the completion time reduced to 100 seconds.

This is a piece of “large-scale downloadable content” as stated by Iwata, which probably means we can expect a large-scale price to come with it. April’s Nintendo Direct stated the DLC will be coming ‘summer’ for European and North American regions and a more specific June launch for Japan.
