E3 2015: Final Fantasy VII Remake Announced, Seriously

Sony’s Pre-E3 press conference was full of surprises as Square Enix announced that it’s begun production on a Final Fantasy VII remake for the Playstation 4. Although it is not a console exclusive, PS4 owners will receive the game first.

Development staff from the original game will be at the helm including producer Yoshinori Kitase, director Tetsuya Nomura, and scenario writer Kazushige Nojima. Since its release in 1997, fans have been clamoring for a modern release of the storied classic. Square Enix plans to detail more about the FF7 remake this Winter. So until then, here are some screenshots from the announcement trailer.
