IronOak Games have announced Steam Greenlight and Kickstarter campaigns for its online roguelike RPG, For the King, today.
Hoping to deliver epic adventures of traditional RPGs in one play session, For The King features “modern low-poly visuals, turn based combat, and persistent choices.”
The Kickstarter hopes to reach its goal of 40,000 CAD with backer rewards varying from a digital copy of the completed game, in-game rewards, a physical art book, to more impactful ones such as designing armor, weapons and even becoming a playable character in For The King. The game also features online cooperative play for up to three players, in addition to single player gameplay.
“For The King aims to capture the feeling of adventure and storytelling of many memorable RPGs, but with an unpredictable nature to create a non-linear experience,” said Gordon Moran, Art Director for IronOak Games. “The game has taken on a life of its own since we started development. It perfectly combines traditional table top board game mechanics with old school turn-based video games, and will appeal to a range of RPG fans.”
For The King will be available on PC and Mac via Steam later this year.
