At the Marvelous Game Showcase 2024, Marvelous USA and Xseed Games revealed new games in two of their long-running series, Story of Seasons and Rune Factory.
For the new Story of Seasons game, the showcase focused on visual improvements, and it does look like a beautiful game, especially the gorgeous nighttime fireworks scene they highlighted. This segment starts at 9:45 in the showcase and gives a nice teaser of what the next Story of Seasons game will be like. Their goal is to emphasize seasonal changes and weather. You’ll also have a glider you can use as you explore, and they confirmed that pets will return.
The next Story of Seasons is currently in active development, so we’ll have to wait to learn more about it.
Last year, Marvelous revealed that two games in the Rune Factory series were in development, the next mainline title as well as a spin-off called Rune Factory: Project Dragon. Today they gave us another look at Project Dragon, which features a new twist on the usual formula – the protagonist uses the power of dance, rather than farming. Players will choose to play as either Subaru or Kaguya, and the video highlighted the combat and skills they’ll use. You can check this out at 23:24 in the video above.
No release window was given for Rune Factory: Project Dragon, so it seems we’ll have to wait a bit longer to learn about both of these upcoming titles.
