Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land Combat Details Revealed

Koei Tecmo has revealed details about the combat and synthesis systems in Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land.

The video goes in-depth on how players will master Resonance Synthesis — the process of adding compatible items to a recipe’s Alchemy Core. Additionally, the quality of the selected ingredients will affect the success of the synthesis.

Combat has also gotten a revamp. Depending on their distance from an enemy, team members have different skills available to them. This time around, players can move in battle or switch out characters at any time, as well as perform a powerful combo known as a “Friend Action.” Exclusive actions can also be performed during a “Mana Surge,” which happens under specific conditions. Finally, each character has a massively powerful special move called a “Maximize Mana Surge.”

What is Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land about?

“In a world where alchemy has become taboo and is considered evil, Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land follows the adventures of Yumia Liessfeldt, and her companions as they seek to uncover the truth behind the fall of the Aladissian Empire, which once thrived with alchemy, and the memories of a lost history,” reads the game’s synopsis. “Yumia’s quest will take her across a ruined continent and despite the uncertainties of confronting her past, she will need to create her own path if she hopes to unravel the mysteries behind the cataclysm that destroyed Aladiss.”
