A Week in the Life of Asocial Giraffe Demo Now Available on Steam

If small talk makes your skin crawl, A Week in the Life of Asocial Giraffe might just be the game for you. Developer Quail Button has quietly released a demo for their upcoming comedy point-and-click adventure game on Steam, giving players a sneak peek at the struggles of an anxious giraffe trying to avoid social interactions at all costs.

Avoid Conversations or Risk Your Head Exploding

In A Week in the Life of Asocial Giraffe, you play as Giraffe, an anxious loner whose head will literally explode if he talks to anyone. Unfortunately, he lives in Friendly City—voted “Friendliest City in the World”—where everyone just loves to chat. Navigating through everyday situations like getting an ID photo, grabbing groceries, and checking the mail becomes a high-stakes stealth mission as Giraffe attempts to avoid overly talkative neighbors.

Demo Highlights: Four Everyday Nightmares

The demo features four playable scenarios that showcase the game’s blend of adventure puzzles and stealth mechanics:

  • Subway Commute – Dodge commuters who just want to strike up a friendly conversation.
  • Photo ID Hell – Try to get your picture taken without answering any small talk.
  • Mail Retrieval – Can you grab your letters without a neighbor noticing?
  • Grocery Store Gauntlet – Pick up your favorite drink while avoiding an unsolicited life story from a stranger.

A Game for Introverts and Small-Talk Haters

“We’ve all been in situations where we’re not feeling social, yet have to engage with other people, and we realized there was potential to make a game out of this,” said Remy Karns, writer and level designer at Quail Button. “This demo offers a taste of the puzzles, humor, and tone of A Week in the Life of Asocial Giraffe. We can’t wait to show you more!”

Features:

  • A story-driven adventure about avoiding social interaction at all costs
  • A week’s worth of puzzle-filled levels mixing classic point-and-click gameplay with stealth elements
  • Hand-drawn animation inspired by 1950s cartoons
  • A unique soundtrack blending ambient city sounds with calming lo-fi beats
