Atelier Yumia Demo Now Available on All Platforms Ahead of Launch

Ahead of it’s March 21, 2025 release Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land has just received a demo on all available platforms which include Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 & 5, Steam, and for a franchise first, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. The demo releases a full five days ahead of launch, giving players the chance to experience the story of Atelier Yumia ahead of launch. The demo will include the very beginning of the prologue up to the start of the main quest entitled, “Pioneering the Ligneus Region.” According to the press release players will be able to explore the open field of the Ligneus region, be introduced to Yumia and her companions, and experience the new synthesis and combat systems. More importantly, the save data from the demo can be carried over to the full game upon purchase, so even if you’re waiting for a sale the demo is a worthwhile experience.

Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land is the first new entry into the series since Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key, the final entry into the Atelier Ryza series. The beginning of a new Atelier series is always cause for celebration as the series is novel in its approach to crafting and puzzle-solving. Yumia especially stands out, as the video above shows, Yumia has access to a gun, on the fly base building, and a motorcycle. The alchemy appears to be refined and streamlined though hopefully maintains depth as that is the core of the series and the story as well. From the website:

In this now forbidden and perilous land, a lone alchemist sets foot.
Her name is Yumia Liessfeldt.
After losing her mother in an accident three years ago,
Yumia discovered that she was from a family of alchemists and began to question many things.

Why did Aladiss fall?
Why did alchemy become “taboo”?
…Is alchemy truly “evil”?
Believing that all truths lie within the continent,
Yumia embarks on a journey to uncover its lost history.

Forbidden alchemy, alchemical lineage, a fallen empire, some pretty strong story beats for a JRPG. Along with the demo, KOEI TECMO announced a special physical edition of Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land. Exclusively through the NIS America Store is a Premium Box version of the game. This version includes the base game, Yumia’s precious stuffed animal, an Extra Tracks CD, an Official Short Story Booklet, a set of 6 Decorative Acrylic Keychains, an Atelier Yumia Art Book, and a Premium Box Collector’s Box. At the hefty price of $160, this Premium Box edition is available for all consoles and currently up for preorder.

Along with the pre-order, anyone who purchases either a physical or digital edition up to two weeks after release will receive two costumes, “Athelete of Memories” for Yumia and “Floating Object of Memories” for Flammi, and a unique “Training Wrist Weight” equipment item. You can find more information on the official website. Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land releases this Friday on March 21st, 2025.
