Creature Keeper Launches on Steam May 8, Bringing Action-Packed Monster Taming

Fervir Games has announced today that their new monster-taming RPG Creature Keeper will launch on Steam on May 8th, 2025. Creature Keeper is an action RPG creature collector game with a customizable party where you can fight alongside your creatures in real-time. Originally pitched as a Kickstarter, Creature Keeper and solo-dev Fervir managed to raise over $50k from nearly 2,000 backers. In celebration of the release date, publisher Graffiti Games will unveil a new creature each day on their Twitter account until the game’s launch on May 8th. The Steam page for Creature Keeper is live and the press release teases development for a Nintendo Switch version.

Welcome to Thera, a magical land filled with fifty fantastical Creatures to train and fight alongside in epic tactical combat. Embark on an adventure to restore balance and stop a sickness from bringing calamity to the world. You can’t save Thera alone though – you’ll need to form a team of unique Creatures to help you on your journey!

To take on the Corruption, you’ll have to level up your party, discover new skills and buffs, and learn all about Creatures through your battles and experiences. Befriend various Creatures like the adorable Amphibiole, the powerful Molectus, the gigantic Lutras, the jacked Swolfe, and the almighty Bep – it’s up to you to build your team and power it up if you hope to overcome the challenges ahead!

Creature Keeper bucks the trend of turn-based monster collection games with an isometric play field and action RPG gameplay. With the ability to equip your monsters, yourself, and unleash combo attacks on your enemies, the depth in combat is impressive. Creature Keeper boasts 50 unique creatures and a bestiary that must be studied to level up.

Creature Keeper Key Features

  • Build Your Team & Fight: Assemble your dream team by befriending a variety of unique Creatures to fight alongside you in real time. Choose your Creatures wisely to best handle any challenge that stands in your way!
  • Customize Your Creatures: Create powerful, diverse, and stylish playstyles through gameplay-altering skill gems, perks, weapons and more while looking the part with tons of hats to dress your Creatures up in.
  • Potent Plant Power: Use your Pocket Garden to grow food and create helpful Connection Bonuses for your Creatures in an engaging organization mini-game.
  • Knowledge Is Strength: Fill out your Bestiary on the fifty unique Creatures in Thera to unlock powerful buffs and items for your party.
  • An Epic Journey Awaits: Explore the vast world of Thera and all its secrets as you take on your quest of destiny.

It’s always very impressive to see a game of such caliber, especially considering Fervir is a solo developer. In 2022, Fervir teamed up with Graffiti Games, adding yet another captivating title to their already impressive portfolio. Creature Keeper will release on May 8th on Steam and a release for the Nintendo Switch is currently in development. Creature Keeper doesn’t have a demo available but it is available for wishlist on its Steam page.
