Q-Games announces today that they will release Dreams of Another, the latest game from Baiyon (PixelJunk Eden,) on PC/Steam alongside their PlayStation 5 and PSVR2 release later this year. Dreams of Another is a game based around the philosophical theme of “No Creation Without Destruction.” Originally announced during Sony’s State of Play last month, Dreams of Another looks to spin the formula of third-person shooters on its head by having the player’s shots build rather than destroy. Along with the Steam release announcement, we’ve also been informed that Dreams of Another’s PlayStation 5 version will be playable, for the first time, this week at Day of the Devs 2025 in San Francisco. The game will also be participating in the Day of the Devs event on Steam as the Steam page for Dreams of Another is now live.
Though being developed by PixelJunk’s developer Q-Games, much of the press release’s focus is on the director of PixelJunk Eden, multimedia artist Baiyon. After joining Q-Games in 2018 as creative director, he has worked on Eden Obscura and PixelJunk Eden 2. Shortly after the State of Play aired, Baiyon wrote for the PlayStation blog about Dreams of Another:
As a developer, I’ve long been interested in finding a new perspective on third-person shooting games. Could we create a game that explores the beauty of life and creation in the context of destruction? This question inspired Dreams of Another.
While Dreams of Another is launching on PlayStation 5, Steam, and PSVR2 there’s no mention of VR on the Steam page. The VR experience of Dreams of Another might be locked to PSVR2. Baiyon’s inclusion aside, Dreams of Another includes:
Key Features
- Shooting Creates, not Destroys: An innovative gameplay mechanic that challenges traditional shooting conventions.
- A Dreamlike World: Fantastical environments created using unique point cloud technology.
- Mysterious Characters: Interact with intriguing personalities such as “The Man in Pajamas” and “The Wandering Soldier” in a poetic storyline.
- Philosophical Themes: Witty thoughtsof everyday objects highlight unconventional perspectives on societal norms.

There is still no official release date for Dreams of Another outside of 2025 for any platform. However, both the Steam and the PlayStation pages are up and available for wishlist.
