ACE Team Unveils The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu, a Co-Op Horror Adventure Inspired by Lovecraft

ACE Team, the developers behind Zeno Clash and Clash: Artifacts of Chaos, are diving into first-person horror with their newly announced title, The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu. Set for release in 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, the game blends survival horror with online co-op for up to four players.

A Descent Into Madness

Inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s novella The Mound, the game follows a group of Spanish conquistadors exploring a legendary underground city rumored to contain untold riches. But what starts as a treasure hunt soon turns into a nightmarish struggle for survival against otherworldly horrors lurking in the jungle.

As players delve deeper, their senses begin to betray them—was that shadow a hallucination, or is something truly there? Can you trust your allies, or has madness taken hold?

  • First-Person Co-Op Horror: Work together with up to three other players to survive.
  • Psychological Terror: Encounter hallucinations, shifting environments, and sanity-bending horror.
  • A Living Nightmare: The jungle is alive with cosmic horrors, distorting reality itself.
  • Historical Horror Setting: Experience a Lovecraftian horror story through the eyes of 16th-century explorers.

ACE Team’s Bold Genre Shift

Known for their surreal, experimental games, ACE Team is taking a new creative leap by blending Lovecraftian horror with cooperative survival gameplay. While the studio is famous for its bizarre and unique worlds, The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu looks to deliver a darker, more psychologically intense experience than ever before.

Prepare to Lose Your Mind in 2025

With The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu, ACE Team is crafting a Lovecraftian nightmare where perception itself is unreliable. Expect paranoia, psychological dread, and cooperative survival mechanics when the game launches in 2025.

Stay tuned for more updates as ACE Team brings its signature creativity to the horror genre.
