Yeah, yeah, yeah, we know, the new official headset for the PS3 is a Bluetooth, it’ll come bundled with SOCOM: Confrontation, but what we didn’t know is the there’s High Quality (HQ) Mode, Desktop Mode and more!
– HQ mode enhances voice-recognition and gives a much better sound to teammates with a higher clarity.
– “Voice Command” and “Voice Animation” will also be supported with a certain way of speech – “WHO, WHAT and WHERE (example: Bravo, Attack, Nav Point Zulu).”
– There will be an in-game indicator exclusive to “this headset that will show the headset’s connection status, battery charge level, speaker volume level and microphone mute status.”
– You can play up to 8 hours+ on a single charge, but when you do need to charge you can simply plug it in to charge and use it as a Desktop Mic!
– You can also connect it by simply plugging it in to the PS3.
Now note, you can’t use it as a USB Headset on PC’s or anything, simply for certain reasons, but you can use it with phones and PC’s that have Bluetooth!
Also, pricing will be as follows: SOCOM: Confrontation bundle ($59.99 MSRP) and a standalone peripheral ($49.99 MSRP).
