Some early details of EA’s sequel to Tony Hawk killer Skate have emerged. San Vanelona, the city from the first game, is still where the game is set. San Vanelona has suffered some sort of disaster, has been rebuilt, and is now known as New San Vanelona. EA have hinted that the new city wont be as skater-friendly as the first one, although we don’t yet know how, but we can assume anti-skateboarding measures are in place at certain locations such as metal knobs etc. The games trick set has been expanded, now allowing for more lip tricks such as footplants, handplants etc, and hippie jumps are also now possible. Players can also now preform grabs during grinds.
One big innovation that a lot of players cried out for, and a lot cried out against, is the ability to get off your board. Now climbing stairs is no longer a difficult task as you can simply pick your board up and walk up them. In addition to being able to get off your board, you can now use the right bumper to grab items such as benches, trash cans etc and use them to create new lines.
EA indicated that thee’s a lot more stuff that they can’t reveal just yet, so watch this space.
