Oddworld Stranger’s Wrath Revamp is Coming to PS3; Move Support

Today, Gravity Crash developer Just Add Water has announced that it will be bringing a revamped, high-def version of Oddworld Inhabitants’ Oddworld Stranger’s Wrath to the Playstation 3 next Easter.

The remake of the bounty hunting title will include “stunning 720p visuals; much more detail in the characters; normal mapping and self-shadowing; re-mastered dialogue, support for PlayStation Move; and additional bonus material still to be revealed.”

Stewart Gilray of Just Add Water adds, “Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath is the first project in what we believe will be a long and fruitful relationship.” Previously, Oddworld Inhabitants had promised that Stranger’s Wrath and Munch’s Oddysee will be ported over to PC this year, however plans for a new Oddworld title have been void at this point. The original Stranger’s Wrath released for the Xbox in 2005 and was widely acclaimed by games press but fell short of its retail expectations.

The Playstation 3 remake of Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath will be available via digital download on the Playstation Network next Easter, which tentatively means April 2011.
