Former president of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios, Phil Harrison has joined the ranks of Microsoft as “senior leader” and will oversee the Interactive Entertainment Business in Europe. Harrison will oversee Microsoft’s European studios such as Rare, Lionhead Studios, and Soho Productions.
Previously at Sony, Harrison pushed the development of Playstation Home and artistically creative games like LittleBigPlanet and Heavy Rain. He later left Sony to join Infogrames as president of Atari and most recently co-founded London Venture Partners, a investment firm focused on social and mobile titles. Hopefully Harrison can bring a focus to Microsoft’s first party development studios as he did with Sony.
