Magic: The Gathering’s Latest Collaboration Is A Marvel Secret Lair Set, With Spider-Man Coming Next Year

Wizards of the Coast has recently revealed the upcoming Marvel-themed Magic: The Gathering cards that were originally teased late last year. The upcoming set will be part of a Secret Lair drop and will go on sale on November 4.

In true Secret Lair fashion, players will able to purchase from a variety of different cards. Each will be themed around specific heroes, including Captain America, Black Panther, Iron Man, Wolverine, and Storm. Each character will be a legendary creature, so if players really want to, they can build an entire commander deck around each one. On top of that, each hero will have unique abilities that are based around their superpowers.

For example, Captain America will be able to catch and throw equipment at multiple enemies, Iron Man will be able to flood the field with artifacts, Wolverine is all about inflicting as much damage as possible, Storm is built around spell casting, and Black Panther will revolve around buffing other creatures on the field.

As usual, players will have a chance to purchase two different versions of these cards. The first is the non-foil cards for $39.99, and the second is a foil version for $49.99. The latest Secret Lair batch is meant to prepare for the upcoming Marvel Universe Beyond collaboration. The first hero to have their official deck will be none other than Spider-Man sometime next year.
