NetherRealm Studios Back with DC Comics Fighting Game

Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe was received with mixed views from fans and critics alike. The idea of Mortal Kombat characters fighting to the death with DC characters was a fun idea on paper; but MK fans were itching for the gory fatalities and brutal fights the crossover simply did not have.

With the successful release of the Mortal Kombat reboot under their belts, NetherRelam Studios is ready to introduce their new game, Injustice: Gods Among Us.

The game, which was announced today by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment in a news release, will feature a large cast from DC Comics. Some of the confirmed characters so far include Batman, Harley Quinn, Solomon Grundy, Superman, The Flash and Wonder Woman.

“We can’t wait to reveal Injustice: Gods Among Us because it will give our fans and gamers an epic experience as they battle like gods as their favorite DC Comics villains and heroes,” said Ed Boon, Creative Director, NetherRealm Studios. “Our team is excited to make a fighting game that is filled with fast-paced action, incredible story-telling and iconic DC Comics characters.”

Injustice: Gods Among Us is scheduled for a 2012 release on Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and the Wii U from Nintendo.
