Elgato’s Game Capture HD60 Is Here Aug. 15

GCHD60_Solution_03

The latest revision of the Game Capture HD from Elgato, the HD60 releases Aug. 15  and lets users save their gameplay footage in 1080p with a stunning 60 frames per second. The Game Capture HD60 also boasts a couple of other interesting new freatures. “Flashback Recording” gives the device DVR like properties, where a specified amount of footage is automatically recorded without having to manually hit record, giving users the ability to rewind to unplanned moments and save them. This sounds like a feature similar to how the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 do things, but at a higher resolution and frame rate.

The HD60 version of the Elgato Game Capture is also bundled with new software dubbed the “Stream Command.” This gives users fully featured live streaming software to create a stream scene, complete with overlays, external microphone and webcam feeds. Stream Command will intergrate directly with Twitch, YouTube, Ustream and Dailymotion while giving users an alternative to programs like XSplit and Open Broadcaster Software. In a world where the current gen of consoles all have built-in capturing and streaming, Elgato is innovating and making an argument for buying a dedicated device to get the best image quality.

The Game HD60 will be hitting BestBuy stores first and cost $179.99 on Aug. 15.
