Mass Effect: Andromeda E3 2016 Trailer

EA’s press conference at E3 2016 included a look at the next game in the Mass Effect series, Mass Effect: Andromeda.

While not a lot of information was revealed, it did confirm that Mass Effect: Andromeda deals with an expedition outside of the Milky Way galaxy to search for a new home for humanity. This expedition leads to the Andromeda galaxy, where “you are the alien.”

They also promised it will be a “bigger adventure” than previous games in the series, with “more freedom” than in any other BioWare game so far. It’s still unclear what exactly this entails, as no gameplay was shown during the press conference.

However, BioWare did share a new trailer that gives a behind-the-scenes look at Mass Effect: Andromeda. Check it out.

As we see in the trailer, the ship is named “Tempest.” This name was one of many things revealed in a supposed leaks last year. That, along with the premise of humanity traveling to an alien galaxy to find a new home, lends a lot of credibility to the leak.

Mass Effect: Andromeda will use the Frostbite engine, and more information has been promised for this fall. Although the lack of gameplay at E3 might disturb fans, producer Michael Gamble promised on Twitter that they will show much more about Andromeda, including its gameplay, as they get closer to its release. Gameplay will most likely be among the information shown this fall.

The game itself is set for the first quarter of 2017, so we look forward to learning more about the story and gameplay before then.
