flOw, created by thatgamecompany is now releasing their second game, Flower. One would think it was spelled “flOwer,” but it doesn’t look that way this time.
Instead of the environment being in the background, it’s in the foreground, seperating this game from others, allowing you to control the wind with the SIXAXIS. Well, you control the first flower pedal, which allows you to see where the wind is going. It allows players to play a different kind of game where players can relax, similarly to that of flOw.
The goals in each level are different, but they all allow you to gather many flower pedals and to allow for a fresh new game with a whole new taste or gameplay. If you’ve played flOw, you know that the SIXAXIS controls are very well implemented and not gimmicky, thatgamecompany will hopefully deliver yet again without making the SIXAXIS implementation useless, and even if you don’t like the SIXAXIS, you don’t have to use it, you can also use the analog sticks.
The lush environments allow you to interact with the surrounding blades of grass and the flowers, but just how many blades of grass? It’s over 200,000! Yes, only possible on the PS3, Flower has over 200,000 blades of grass perfectly simulated to how you move the wind.
And if you are more of a casual gamer than a hardcore gamer, you can customize your experience and play at whatever pace you want, so you don’t have to play too slowly or too quickly.

These two videos really show off Flower and its great new twist to gaming. After the jump you’ll see another video of Windmill gameplay.
